The Ice Hall in Nivala has been in operation since 1995. The hall is located in connection with the Nivala Sports Centre, in close distance of schools and town centre services. In the vicinity of the Nivala Sports Centre, the Uikko swimming center, for Gym and Skateboard Park can be found. Future plans include increased development in the area of physical exercise. The Ice Hall operations are focused on renting the ice to sport and other associations. Supplementary cultural events have played an important role in the Ice Hall. Examples are national operas: PULA! (Great Depression) 2004-2006, Joutilas mies (Idle Man) 2008, Viimeiset kiusaukset (Last Temptations) 2009 and Rockland 2011.
